Esperance at a glance
Esperance sits on Western Australia's south-east coast, about 725km from Perth by road. The region covers more than 42,000 square kilometres, stretching from Munglinup(opens in new tab) to Israelite Bay(opens in new tab) and north to the Shire of Dundas(opens in new tab). Just under 15,000 people call it home, giving it one of the lowest population densities anywhere.
Over 400km of coastline runs from the sheltered bays and islands of the Recherche Archipelago(opens in new tab) to the towering cliffs of the Great Australian Bight(opens in new tab). Inland, national parks, wetlands and farmland surround the smaller towns of Condingup, Salmon Gums, Grass Patch, Gibson, Scaddan and Cascade, the backbone of the region's agriculture.
The town of Esperance has everything you need for your stay, from shopping to medical services.
