Kepa Kurl

Pronounced ‘kep-pa kurl’ is the Wudjari name for ‘Esperance’. ‘Kepa’ translates to water and ‘Kurl’ to boomerang. Kepa Kurl means ‘where the waters lie like boomerangs’ and refers to the shape of the two bays closest to the Esperance townsite.
